 Fun mixed with occasional frustrationAug 11, 2011

The majority of the games in this volume are a fun challenge and the organization into incresingly difficult puzzles helps you build solving strategies as you come to understand how to approach each type. One criticism is that it does not appear that the solutions were all throughly vetted. There are a few of the puzzles that have multiple solutions while only one is presented as "the" solution. And several puzzles actually contain errors. In one word puzzle, for instance, where you must fill in a quote, the punctuation is out of place. In another math puzzle, if you follow the order of operations rule, the answer they supply is incorrect. These issues are the exceptions, not the rule, so it is still a satisfying book. Just understand going in that there are inaccuracies here and there that, if you are a detail person, could leave you a bit frustrated.
